United States marketer of Subaru products
manufactured by Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd.
of Japan. Headquartered in Cherry Hill,

"Subaru"
is a Japanese word meaning "unite,"
as well as a term identifying a cluster
of six stars, which the Greeks called Pleiades
- part of the Taurus constellation.
According
to Greek mythology, Altas' daughter turned
into this group of stars. In 1953, five
Japanese companies merged to form Fuji Heavy
Industries Ltd. The new corporation adopted
the "Subaru" cluster of stars
as the official logo for its line of automobiles.

of America, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary
of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. of Japan.
Subaru is the only automobile manufacturer
to offer all-wheel drive as standard equipment
on every vehicle they make. Headquartered
near Philadelphia, the company markets and

through a network of nearly 600 dealers
