2002 was the last year for the Acura Integra.
It stands as a testimony to automotive engineering
excellence and durability. The 2002 Acura
Integra is a 2-door, 4-passenger sports
car, available in 4 trims, ranging from
the Coupe to the Type-S with Navigation
System. The Coupe is equipped with a standard
3.2-liter, V6, 225-horsepower engine that
achieves 19-mpg in the city and 29-mpg on
the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission
with overdrive is standard. The Type-S with
Navigation System is equipped with a standard
3.2-liter, V6, 260-horsepower engine that
achieves 19-mpg in the city and 28-mpg on
the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission
with overdrive is standard, and a 5-speed
automatic transmission with overdrive is
optional.

key engineering highlights for Acura
Vehicles include: development of the VTEC™
(Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control)
system, the first-ever variable valve timing system
for cars; an advanced double-wishbone upper and lower
control arm suspension system; drive-by-wire throttle;
and the development of advanced safety systems like
a dual-stage front passenger's air bag, a height- and
position-sensing side impact air bag for the front passenger,
and the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) system. All this
is evident in the engineering aspect of the Acura
Type-S vehivle. Acura engineering has set benchmarks
for other marques, for nearly as long as there have
been Acura cars.
